Assam: Zubeen Garg requests ULFA(I) to release kidnapped oil employees

Guwahati: Assam heartthrob Zubeen Garg on Saturday requested United Liberation Front of Asom—Independent (ULFA-I) chief Paresh Baruah to immediately release the two kidnapped Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited employees.

Garg requested the ULFA(I) chief to talk with the Government and the Oil Company instead of punishing the two employees of the company.

“I request Paresh Baruah to look into the matter and the word ‘Charam Sasti'(strong action) in the statement issued by the ULFA(I) made me sad. Both of them have their families, they have their own dreams.So, punishing them will not be a good decision. I request ULFA(I) to talk with the company and the government and release the two employees immediately on humanitarian grounds,” said Zubeen Garg.

It is to be mentioned that Quippo’s radio operator Ram Kumar who hails from Bihar and drilling superintendent Pranab Kumar Gogoi, a resident of Sivasagar in Assam were kidnapped by armed militants on December 21 from from the drilling location in Diyun under Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
