GUWAHATI, Sep 23: In a sensational incident, the body of a woman with her hands and feet tied was recovered at Bayda Chatabari in Goalpara district. The woman, identified as Pranaswari Rabha, had gone missing since Tuesday afternoon after she left home to graze her cows.

Her body with her hands and feet tied was recovered near the cremation grounds last night.

Incidentally, the victim’s brother, too, was killed on suspicion of witchcraft a few years ago while her sister, Rameshwari Rabha, was evicted from the village a few years ago on suspicion of practicing sorcery.

News Live had reported about the plight of the deceased woman’s sister who was forced out of her village. Police believe that some villagers could have killed the woman believing she too was practicing black magic and also since she was keeping touch with her sister. No arrests were made till the filing of this report.
