Assam: Truck rams into Police patrol vehicle in Nagaon, 7 injured

GUWAHATI: A speeding truck rammed into a Police patrolling vehicle (Tata Sumo) at Nagaon Highway on Tuesday night. A total of 7 people present inside the Assam Police patrolling vehicle, including the driver, were injured in the accident.

Sanjib Kumar Sinha, Officer-in-charge of Borghat Police Outpost was seriously injured in the accident. Others who were in the vehicle are Nipu Dekaraja, Kalyan Dihingia, Rakesh Bordoloi, Prafulla Bora, Bokul Bordoloi and the driver Bhola Kalita.

As per reports, the incident took place after the truck that was heading towards Guwahati crashed into an Assam Police vehicle that was parked near the road. After the accident the truck did not stop and fled from the spot of incident.

The injured were rushed to Nagaon Civil Hospital. Sanjib Kumar Sinha and Bokul Bordoloi who were seriously injured in the accident have been taken to Guwahati for further treatment.

Meanwhile, Police investigations are underway.
