Assam: Top DNLA leaders come overground to join peace process

Guwahati:  Responding to the call of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Saram, Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) which was responsible for large scale violence in both Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao came overground on Friday morning.

The DNLA leadership who came overground are Chairmàn, DNLA/DPSC Edika Diphusa alias Kharmindao Dimasa Kachari, Aditional CnC, DNLA/DPSC – Juddychan Haflongbar alias America Dimasa Kachari and General Secretary, DNLA /DPSC – Prithamjit Jidongsa alias Galao Dimasa Kachari.

The leaders surrendered in the presence of Assam Minister Education Ranoj Pegu, Spl DGP G.P.Singh and senior police and civil officers.

Taking to Twitter Minister Pegu wrote, “n response to HCM Dr. @himantabiswa‘s call, Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) has come out to join the peace process. I on behalf of the Govt. of Assam welcomed the group led by Shri Edika Diphusa, Chairman, DNLA at Daojingphai village of Karbi Anglong.”

 

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed their surrendered process and hoped for a permanent solution and peace.

Taking to Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Peace is not illusive when we walk the extra mile Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA), an armed outfit of Assam’s hill districts, came out from jungle today .We welcome them to a dialogue and hope for permanent solution and peace ⁦@AmitShah.”
