GUWAHATI, Nov 5: Three people were killed on the spot while four others injured when a speeding truck rammed into a car on the National Highway-15 in Assam’s Sonitpur district early Sunday morning.
The accident took place near Bhergaon Saikia village under Dhekiajuli police station when the speeding truck ploughed into the car which was on its way to Paneri in Udalguri district from Tinsukia.
Two among the three dead were identified as Jyotish Barek and Pooja Chapar while the identity of the third deceased is yet to be known.
Four others, including one minor, were immediately rushed to the Tezpur Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered and the police were further investigating the incident.
