Assam: Suspected Jihadi posted radical content on Facebook, sent to Police Custody

GUWAHATI: A suspected Jihadi has been sent to 3-day police custody by a local court in Mankachar on Friday. The youth named Mijanur Rahman was arrested by Assam Police for posting objectionable and radical content on Facebook and spreading them through Whatsapp.

According to reports, South Salmara Mankachar Police detained Mijanur along with two other men—Ariful Islam and Rabikul Islam on Thursday. However, Ariful and Rabikul were released after the interrogation.

Meanwhile, on Friday Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate court in Hatsingimari sent Mijanur to police custody for three days.

Police has been grilling the accused for further information and nab other culprits involved in the nexus to spread Islamic radicalism in the state.
