GUWAHATI: On the occassion of Bhai Dooj, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal extended his greetings to the citizens.
“Happy #BhaiDooj, Bhai Phota, Bhatri Dwitiya. May the sacred festival reaffirm the strong ties of love and affection between brothers and sisters,” Sonowal said in a tweet.

Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma also took to twitter to convey Bhatri Dwitiya wishes.

BhaiDooj, Bhai Phota or Bhatri Dwitiya is a Hindu festival which celebrates the bond between a brother and a sister.
Bhai Dooj also marks the end of Diwali festivities. Bhai Dooj is observed on the Dwitiya Tithi, Shukla Paksha of the Kartik month.
