GUWAHATI: Assam singer Babu and music director Ajoy Phukan along with some other personalities from cultural fraternity joined the Congress party on Tuesday. The artistes joined the Congress at a meeting at the party office in Guwahati in presence of in-charge of Assam Congress Harish Rawat and Assam Pradesh Congress committee (APC) president Ripun Bora.
After joining the party, singer Babu also sang his popular song ‘Paddle mari paddle mari.”
Meanwhile, several other artistes including popular singer Simanta Shekhar and flutist Dipak Sarma joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.
