GOALPARA: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Goalpara Civil Hospital on Sunday and took health update of the three COVID19 positive patients admitted there.
Speaking to the media the minister said, “One more patient has been confirmed COVID19 positive in Silchar Medical College. This was announced yesterday. With this, the total COVID19 positive cases in Assam have reached 26.”
“The name of the patient is Sajibur Rahman. He is a former BSF jawan and resides in Ranighat, Silchar. Rahman retired in 2007 and had visited the Nizamuddin Markaz event of Tablighi Jamaat,” stated Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
“Of the three patients who are in Goalpara, two had visited the Nizamuddin Markaz in New Delhi. The third patient had come in close contact with them,” added the health minister.
