GUWAHATI: Achieving a milestone in the fight against COVID-19, the Assam health department conducted 143,109 tests on Wednesday. The department set a target of 1 lakh tests for the day. However, showing exemplary hard work, the health workers and other staff surpassed the target.
With this, the total number of tests conducted in the state mounted to of 1573800.
Taking to Twitter, Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Inspired by our prime minister @narendramodi, we have been continuously stepping up our #COVID testing. I am so proud to share that in the last 24 hours, team Assam carried out 143,109 tests. This takes the total test conducted in Assam to a record high of 1573800.”
