Guwahati: Schools across Assam will be closed till May 31 amid Coronavirus crisis.
Addressing a press meet Assam Health and Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma declared May 1 to May 31 as summer vacation in schools across the state. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, school authorities are asked to adjust the summer vacations.
Dr. Sarma also stated that SEBA and the AHSEC will declare the results for class 10 and HS examinations on mid-June.
Further, to save the academic year of the students, the state government plans on extending the academic year till 31st March next year. However, the government has sought suggestions on this regard from academicians.
Dr Sarma further added, “This time the students won’t receive paper mark sheet as we don’t want the student to come to school. Everyone will receive digital mark sheets. These mark sheets can be used for admission purpose, too”.
