GUWAHATI: To develop the Satras and Naamghars, Assam Government has taken an initiative and under different development schemes has offered financial aid to 20 Naamghars of Sarbhog LAC of Barpeta district. A total of 20 Naamghars were given financial aid amounting to Rs 2.50 lakhs in a programme held on Sunday at Barpeta Road Sahitya Sabha Bhawan. The aid was provided for its renovation and development.
State BJP President Ranjeet Kumar Dass tweeted, ” For the development of Naamghars, the Government of Assam has provided a grant of Rs. 2.50 lakhs to each of 20 Naamghars. In future, financial assistance will be provided to each Namghars in Sorbhog area. “
Dass further tweeted,” The state government under the leadership of Sarbananda Sonwal has from time to time undertaken various development schemes to enhance the Naamghars in Assam.”
