Guwahati: Assam reported 590 fresh Covid cases on Wednesday with a positivity rate of 10.75%. With this, the total number of active cases in the state went up further to 2,584. However, 190 Covid patients also got discharged after recovery on the same day.
One Covid fatality was reported in the state in the last hours, which was from Kamrup district in lower Assam
The health department has increased testing across districts and the same touched 5,489 on Wednesday from 4,157 on Tuesday. But the positivity rate marginally inclined from 10.44% reported the previous day.
On Wednesday, Kamrup (Metro) district, under which capital Guwahati falls reported 60 cases, followed by 59 cases in Kamrup (rural) 55 in Dhubri and 50 cases in Goalpara district
