GUWAHATI: Assam has recorded 3,054 new COVID-19 cases out of the 48,846 tests done in the state on Thursday. The positivity rate for the day is 6.25 per cent.
With the addition of the new cases, the tally has reached 11,8333.
“Alert ~ 3054 #COVID cases detected today out of 48846 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 6.25% Kamrup M- 735; Dibrugarh- 198; Cachar- 192; Hojai- 176,” health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma stated in a tweet.
On the other hand, 7 COVID-19 deaths have been registered in the state on Thursday.
“Sad demise of 7 Covid patients- Late Lakhan Gowala (55) & Late Nirmala Gogoi (43) of D’garh; Late Romen Borthakur (54) of Sivasagar; Late Bimala Nanda Das (80) & Late Jugal Kishore Das (34) of Kamrup M; Late Priyanath Das (58) of Barpeta & Late Kabita Barman (33) of Nalbari,” tweeted minister Sarma.
