GUWAHATI: The pre-poll alliance between Akhil Gogoi led-Raijor Dal and Lurinjyoti Gogoi’s Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) has been finalised after Lurinjyoti met Akhil Gogoi at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Thursday.
“The decision of the alliance has been finalised. The formal announcement will be made soon. It is clear that the alliance between Assam Jatiya Parishad and Raijor Dal is final,” Lurinjyoti Gogoi said after meeting Akhil Gogoi at GMCH.
The AJP president said that the regional forces would fight unitedly against the national and communal parties in the forthcoming Assam assembly elections.
He claimed that the next government would be formed by the regional forces of the state.
Along with Lurin, AJP general secretary Jagadish Bhuyan was also present in the discussion with Akhil Gogoi.
Raijor Dal leader Akhil Gogoi who was arrested in December, 2019 is currently undergoing treatment at GMCH.
