GUWAHATI: Ahead of the forthcoming Assam assembly polls, North Salmara election district in Bongaigaon has produced a short film to raise awareness among the voters to exercise their franchise.
The short film titled ‘VoteWalk’ has been produced under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) to encourage new voters, differently-abled persons and senior citizens to cast their votes. The election district will go to polls on April 6 in the third phase.
“All the voters of North Salamara election district are requested to maintain COVID-19 protocols during the voting. For example—wear mask, maintain social distance and proceed to cast vote after sanitisation. I request voters belonging to all the classes to cast your votes freely to establish a strong democracy,” said Kamal Baruah, district election officer.
