Guwahati: State Level Police Recruitment Board announces new date for sub-inspector (SI) recruitment test. The recruitment test will now be conducted on Nov 22.
Earlier, the written test for recruitment for SI of police (UB) in Assam Police, scheduled to be held from 12 pm on Sunday, September 20, was canceled as the question paper was leaked in social media.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also ordered an inquiry into the leak of question paper of the written test for the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors (SI) in Assam Police.
The Chief Minister directed DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta to expeditiously conduct the inquiry into the leak of the question paper of the recruitment examination to fork out the culprits.
Chief Minister Sonowal further directed DGP Mahanta to investigate if any vested interest group conspired to derail the recruitment process taken up by the state government and ensure strict action against the guilty.
Over the past few days, the police arrested BJP leader Diban Deka a few more individuals in connection with the case. One PK Dutta, who is a former Deputy Inspector General of Police and an accused in the case, has gone into hiding.
