GUWAHATI: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested top Assam Police officer Kumar Sanjit Krishna in connection with Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scandal. The former Karimganj Superintendent of Police will be arrested on Friday.
The top cop was allegedly involved in the question paper leak case that had rocked the state. Earlier, the CID summoned Krishna to interrogate in connection with the scam.
However, following the interrogation, he went missing on Wednesday. Later on Thursday, the SP-ranked officer reached the Director General of Police (DGP) office at Ulubari in Guwahati.
It is pertinent to mention that Prasanta Kumar Dutta, a former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Assam Police was arrested for his alleged involvement in the question paper leak case. He was sent to 14-day judicial custody on Tuesday.
