GUWAHATI: A court in Guwahati sent former deputy inspector general (DIG) of police PK Dutta to 14-day judicial custody who was arrested in connection with the Assam Police Sub-Inspector recruitment scam case. His 6-day custody under the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) ended today.
“Dutta has been sent to the judicial custody for 14 days after his CID custody had ended today. CID didn’t seek his remand before the court,” the former top cop’s lawyer said.
Dutta, the prime accused in the Assam Police recruitment scam case was arrested from the Kakarbhitta area along the Indo-Nepal border while he was on run.
