GUWAHATI: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday conducted a search operation at Bongaigaon Branch of Punjab National Bank in connection with Assam Police Sub-Inspector recruitment scam case. The CID sleuths took accused Devraj Das along with them and recovered a huge amount of cash from the bank locker belonged to Das.
However, the CID team did not reveal the details.
“We don’t want to disclose the details since investigation is going on,” said a CID official.
Devraj is an employee of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR). Das who hails from Barpeta district was posted at New Bongaigaon. He was arrested for his alleged involvement in the SI scam.
Earlier, cash worth Rs. 1.83 crore was recovered from his Barpeta residence.
