Assam Police seized suspected Heroin worth Rs 14 Crores; 2 held

Guwahati: Continuing its war on drugs, Assam Police seized suspected Heroin worth Rs 14 crores at Dillai in Bokajan, Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Monday.

At 12th Mile under Dillai police station, the heroin weighing roughly two kg were found in 152 soap boxes.

According to police, drugs were being transported in a vehicle heading from Dimapur, Nagaland.

The police arrested two accused in the connection and identified as Lanahmai Stephen and Roko Baipok, residents of  neighbouring state Manipur.

“In a big and smart op, @assampolice intercepted a car at 12 Mile under Dillai PS and recovered 152 soap boxes containing 1.995 kg suspected Heroin. Two persons of 2 neighbouring states apprehended. Further investigation is on. Keep it up Assam Police”, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.
