Assam Police seized 1.6 kg heroin from Bokajan, 2 held

Guwahati: In a massive crackdown on the drug trade in the state, Assam Police seized 1.6 kg of heroin and also apprehended two drug peddlers at Khot-khoti in Bokajan.

The market value of the seized contraband is estimated to be Rs 10 crore.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Amir Hussain and Salao Hussain.

Reportedly, Amir Hussain was shot at by the police while he tried to flee from police custody. Hussain sustained bullet injuries in the police firing.

He is now undergoing treatment at Diphu Medical College.

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took to twitter and lauded the efforts of Assam police in their war against drugs.
