Assam: Over 3.5 lakh students appear for HSLC 2020, Sec 144 imposed at exam centers

GUWAHATI:  A total of 3,58,446 students are appearing in the 2020 HSLC (matriculation) examination that started from today across 860 centers in Assam.

This session’s examinations are being conducted under strict rules and regulations and section 144 (prohibits the assembly of four or more people in an area) has been imposed near the examination centers.

Students caught cheating, carrying mobile phones and disobeying invigilators will face suspension for the next three years.

The board has taken preventive measures to stop students from using cellphones and other such devices. Mobile signal Jammers have been installed at various exam centers across the state.

The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has requested social organizations to not call for strikes or conduct any such programs on the dates the exams are scheduled.

Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal wished all the HSLC candidates via twitter, “Extending best wishes to all my young friends appearing in #HSLC and #AHM examinations 2020.”

Education Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on Twitter, “The more you sweat, the more you shine!After your months of hard work, it is time to prove yourself in the exam. I am certain you shall shine. Do well my dear young friends appearing for High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) Exams. “
