Assam: One Injured in Firing India-Bhutan border

Guwahati:  In yet another incident, a person was injured in an encounter after a Forest Protection Force fired at him at the India-Bhutan border, Chirang district.

The incident took place at Runikhata Chirang Reserve Forest when a person was allegedly cutting trees.

The person has been identified as Lama Charan Narzary (35).

According to the forest protection force, he was cutting trees illegally at the reserve forest.

The forest officials also seized a tree-cutting machine from the spot.

He is now under treatment at JSB Civil Hospital at Kajalgaon. 

Following the incident, heated situation aroused in the area.
