ASSAM: NURSING HOME EMERGES AS COVID-19 HOTSPOT; 4 NURSES TEST POSITIVE

GUWAHATI: A private nursing home in Golaghat district has emerged as a hotspot for the spread of COVID-19. At first, two lab technicians had tested positive for COVID-19. Following that 4 nurses of the nursing home have also tested positive recently.

The nurses who have been detected as COVID positive are Lisa Lama, Rumi Loying, Junu Rajkhowa and Purnima Saikia.

Reportedly, a mason working at the hospital has also tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

The lab technicians identified as Pranjal Bora and Rhituraj Bora had tested positive for the virus on June 14. The duo was working in the nursing home even though they were under quarantine.

It is being suspected that the nurses might have contracted the virus through the biometric machine in the nursing home which was active till June 16.

Meanwhile, the district administration has declared the nursing home as a restricted zone.
