GUWAHATI: Not a single attendee of the religious congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz who had returned to Assam made contacts with the government authorities, revealed Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. No one of them also went for self-quarantine.

“Not a single person undertook self-quarantine or inform us about it. After receiving the alert from the Government of India and Delhi Government we received a list from Andhra Pradesh Government. I posted about it on Twitter. After the news was aired by local news channels, many people contacted us on 104. They informed us that a lot of people from their localities had returned from Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi. Based on the alert from Delhi and inputs on 104 we have identified these people,” minister Sarma said during a live show ‘Samayiki’ with News Live consulting editor Dhruba Mahanta.

“There are some people who came from Nizamuddin and did not identify themselves. But they went to distribute masks, took part in the meeting. Such incident at Hajo has come to our notice,” Sarma added.

“At this time we should not discuss who is responsible for it. The main of my team is to treat the people,” minister Sarma further said.
