Guwahati: The new COVID19 Standard Operating Procedure will be released at 11 AM, today September 1. This was stated by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday.
Informing this Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “A new set of SOP would be published at 11 am, September 1. Health Minister Keshab Mahanta will release these SOP in a press conference.” Earlier, the Chief Minister hinted that the government may announce some relaxations in the SOP.

Likewise, the government is mulling to reopen the educational institutes from September since the pandemic situation has been marking an improvement. Sources also told that normal life may resume in the state from September. The interdistrict movement from Kamrup may also be relaxed and government and buses can ply regularly.
However, the government may keep some restrictions including the night curfew in place. “The timing of night curfew may be changed. Wearing of mask in public places will not be lifted,” sources hinted.
