GUWAHATI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA in Assam Rituparana Barua has tested COVID-19 positive on Sunday. Baruah represents Lahowal constituency of Dibrugarh district of upper Assam.
Earlier on Saturday, hills area development minister Sum Ronghang had tested COVID-19 positive. Ronghang is the first minister in Assam to get infected with COVID-19.
He is being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) at a private hospital in Guwahati.
On the other hand, Haflong MLA Bhadra Hagjer has also been found positive for novel coronavirus.
