In a tragic incident, a forest personnel opened fire in Jharbari, resulting in the unfortunate demise of an individual, triggering protest on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Hemanta Narzary, a resident of Gyanipur village in Serfanguri.
According to sources, the forest department personnel were on routine patrolling when they found out some suspicious movement and opened fire, during which Hemanta Narzary was hit by a bullet.
Following the incident, Narzary succumbed to his injuries.
