GUWAHATI: A 38-year old man was reportedly abducted from his residence in Harangajao, Dima Hasao district on Friday evening. The man named Santosh Hojai was abducted by a group of 3-4 people in the evening.
The wife of the victim revealed that the group of kidnappers came in a Bolero car at around 6 PM. They wanted a JCB to pull out a stuck vehicle. After a short discussion the group left the residence with Santosh. Since then there is no news of Santosh Hojai.
Meanwhile, the family of the abductee lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the local police station. Dima Hasao superintendent of police informed that police has been investigating into the matter and expecting a breakthrough soon. However, the motive behind the kidnap is yet unknown.
