Assam man dies in Saudi, COVID-19 suspected

GUWAHATI: In a suspected case of COVID-19, a man from Assam reportedly died in Saudi Arabia on Monday night. The 27-year old man named Rehanuddin was from Gonipur Koroiguri village under Doboka area in Hojai district. He was working as a driver in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

According to reports, Rehanuddin was suffering from cough and fever for a few days. When his health condition deteriorated he was being taken to a hospital on Monday night. But he breathed his last on the way. Saudi Arabian authorities arranged testing for the deceased to ascertain his COVID-19 status.

The incident has descended a pall of gloom in Doboka locality.
