Guwahati: A total of 115 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Wednesday (December 29).
Among the new cases, the highest number of cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (53), Jorhat (15), Cachar (7) and Barpeta (6).
The new cases were detected out of 27,888 tests that were conducted during the day.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.41% per cent on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, two new COVID-19 related death were reported in the state during the day.
According to the National Health Mission (NHM) Assam, the fresh fatalities were reported from Kamrup Metro (1) and Sivasagar (1).
Further, 112 patients recovered on December 29. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 98.66 per cent.
Earlier on Tuesday (December 28), 120 COVID-19 cases were reported in the state including 55 cases from Kamrup Metro district.
In the last 10 days, Kamrup Metro district has reported 506 new COVID-19 cases.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on 29th December, 6,20,472 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 6,12,171 patients have recovered, while 6,162 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 792.
Over 2.65 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.
As many as 3,73,82,577 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 2,17,21,026 persons administered with the first dose and 1,56,61,551 administered both doses of the vaccine.
