Assam: Liquor prices to increase from April 1

PUBLISHED:

The Assam Excise Department has declared a substantial increase in alcohol prices, which will come into force from April 1, 2024.

All categories of alcoholic beverages, including Indian-made foreign liquor, beer, wine, and ready-to-drink beverages would see a price hike.

According to the new regulations, beer prices will see a minimum increase of Rs. 33 to Rs. 43 per 650 ml bottle, while India-made spirits will see a range increase depending on the brand category, with minimum prices reaching Rs 530 for a 750 ml bottle.

This change applies to both civil consumption and consumption via Canteen Stores Depot (CSD) bonded warehouses and paramilitary wholesale warehouses.
