Assam launches online recruitment portal for APSC aspirants

PUBLISHED:

GUWAHATI: Assam Public Service Commission(APSC) has finally gone online with aspirants being able to create free-of-cost accounts to apply for various public service exams. Candidates will also be able to view their performances and compare it against all the exams they have appeared for using the account.

This comes courtesy the recruitment portal that the Assam government launched on September 8 for APSC. The accounts of the candidates will store their basic information details and help them to apply for various exams.

In an online programme, the recruitment portal was launched by Neeraj Verma, principal secretary of the administrative reforms and personnel department and Pallab Bhattacharyya, chairman of the APSC, in presence of Dinesh Tyagi, CEO of CSC SPV, an arm of ministry of electronics and IT which has designed the portal in collaboration with APSC.
“The individual accounts will keep a record of the candidates’ performances in various exams. By storing basic information, a candidate is relieved from filling the same data again and again for multiple exams. Candidates will also be able to make necessary challan payments online from the convenience of their homes,” Gyan Doley, northeast regional head at Common Services Centres, said.

He added that the online application process will also eliminate problems of delays which occur when physical applications don’t reach the commission before the final dates due to various transport-related issues. “Such delays have become a major issue during Covid-19.

Through the extensive network of CSCs in the state, the digital divide between urban and rural applicants will also get reduced.

Other than submission of applications, this portal has features of mobile/email validation using one time password, one profile, one application, online payment, online admit cards, status review and others,” Doley informed.
