GUWAHATI: One more doctor has tested positive for COVID-19 in Assam. Dr. Hasid Jaman who was the in-charge of Panigaon Omprakash Dinodia College quarantine centre in North Lakhimpur has tested COVID-19 positive. Incoming passengers from other States have been quarantined at this college.
A few days ago, some people created an unruly situation at the quarantine centre. Dr. Hasid Jaman had reportedly come into their contact. He was under isolation at Lakhimpur.
“Jaman was the facility in-charge of Panigaon OPD College. He joined there on May 25. We collected samples of other staff including security guards. They have tested negative,” said an official of Lakhimpur health department.
He also stated that the doctor who hails from Guwahati had joined his service in March.
“Dr. Hasid Jaman was very dedicated. He even did not visit his home during Eid,” said the officer.
Earlier, Dr. Deepak Chandra Das, in-charge of Singimari Model Hospital in kamrup district which has been functioning as a dedicated COVID-19 facility tested positive for COVID-19.
On the other hand, a health worker identified as Saiful Islam from Bihdia block primary health centre in Kamrup has also been found COVID-19 positive.
