Assam: Kamrup (Metro) district records highest COVID-19 cases

GUWAHATI: Kamrup (Metropolitan) district has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Assam, informed health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday. The district has recorded a total 37 COVID-19 positive cases so far. It is followed by Hojai district in middle Assam with 23 positive cases.

With 16 cases Kamrup (Rural) district stands at third position. At present the total number of cases in Assam stands at 199. With the recovery of 54 patients, there are 138 active cases in the state. Three have migrated and four deaths have been reported. 

Meanwhile, Dr. Sarma has stated that seven districts have remained unaffected from COVID-19. No residents from Barpeta, Charaideo, Darrang, Dhemaji, Udalguri and West Karbi Anglong districts have been found positive for COVID-19.
