GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday visited screening and quarantine centre of Tezpur University to take stock of the preparedness to fight COVID-19 pandemic. The screening centre and quarantine centre at Tezpur University has been set-up to deal with the flow of people coming from other states. Such screening centres have been set-up at Jorhat, Guwahati, Kokrajhar and Silchar.
During his visit minister Sarma was accompanied by minister of state for health and family welfare Pijush Hazarika, Tezpur MP Pallab Lochan Das and Dhekiajuli MLA Ashok Singhal.
“All medical staff are in state of readiness and infrastructure firmly in place,” Dr. Sarma stated in a Tweet.
