GUWAHATI: Assam health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Diphu Medical College and Hospital today to take stock of the necessary arrangements to deal with COVID19 pandemic. Dr. Sarma interacted with the doctors, nurses and health officials to check and review the preparedness for COVID19 treatment. He was accompanied by minister of state for health and family welfare Pijush Hazaika and chief executive member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuliram Ronghang.
So far Assam has reported 34 COVID19 positive cases. Among them one patient from southern Assam’s Hailakandi district died on April 10. On the other hand, 5 persons have been discharged as they recovered completely from COVID19. Some other patients are also likely to be discharged soon from the hospitals.
