GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that health department has recommended ward-wise lockdown in Guwahati.
“The decision will be taken by Kamrup Metropolitan district administration,” Dr. Sarma said at a press meet on Monday.
He stated that Ward no. 2,3, 4, 5, 10, 15 and 16 have become hotspots of COVID-19 in the city.
After June 15, 144 COVID-19 cases have been found in Guwahati with no travel history.
Several cases with no travel history have been detected at Fancy Bazaar, Pandu, Maligaon, Machkhowa, Dhirenpara and Fatasil Ambari.
