Assam: Guwahati Businessman Bhaskarjyoti Neog found murdered in Mayong, Morigaon


GUWAHATI: A young businessman from Hatigaon, Guwahati was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Mayong. His body was found in a sack under a bridge at Morikhuti tributary.

According to reports on 25th January, Bhaskarjyoti Neog had gone to Mayong to collect payment from one Dilip Barman of Simolutola village. Bhaskar had given two excavators on rent to Barman.

Moreover, Bhaskarjyoti’s mobile phone went switched off mode from 25th evening, the day he left for Mayong to collect the payment. As he was nowhere to be found the family lodged an FIR at the Hatigaon Police station.

Mayong Police had been interrogating Dilip Barman for two days and on his information a team of Assam Police finally recovered the body of Bhaskarjyoti Neog from under the bridge. The killers had put rocks inside the sack and a gun cartridge was also found from the spot. Two bullet wounds were found in the body.

According to police sources a payment of Rs. 45 lakh was made by Barman to the deceased who later with his accomplices murdered Bhaskar and divided the money. Barman has admitted to the police of the crime said the sources. One more person by the name of Sahidul has also been arrested by the Mayong Police. According to Mayong Police investigations are on and all the details will come to light in some time.
