Assam Govt to provide Rs. 50 thousand to 2 lakh youths, details here

GUWAHATI: The Assam government on Saturday launched the portal for Redesigned-Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment (Re- SVAYEM). The applicants can now make online application to avail the benefits of the scheme through the portal—https://www.svayem.in.

Principal Secretary @AssamFinDept Sri @samirsinha69 launched the portal of Re-SVAYEM and #Orunodoi schemes today at Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati. We are certain these two schemes, along with our other welfare programs, shall address aspirations of people,” Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on Twitter.

The ambitious scheme has been redesigned to develop an ‘Entrepreneurship-Oriented-Ecosystem’ in the state.

The government will provide ‘Seed Money’ and ‘Working Capital Support’ to 2 lakh members of enterprising groups to undertake new economic activities or expand their existing businesses

Each member of the selected eligible group would be given a seed capital of Rs. 50,000 in two tranches for promoting entrepreneurial activities at the grass root level.

Under the scheme, the government of Assam will assist existing groups (5-20 members) such as:

Self-Help Groups (SHGs)

Joint Liability Groups (JLGs)

Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO)

Cluster level SPVs / Federations.
