GUWAHATI: The Assam Government is planning to facilitate intra-state travel for the labourers stranded in different parts of the state amid nationwide lockdown to contain COVID-19 pandemic. The government will provide intra-state transport only for one day to the stranded labourers so that they can return home.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati Assam chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna said, “There are some labourers stuck in different districts of Assam. We will decide a date and make arrangements for their return to home. It will be preferably only for one day.”
The chief secretary stated that the government order on this will be issued soon.
