Assam Govt to discuss reopening of schools on August 25-26

GUWAHATI: Though the Assam government is ready to reopen the schools and other educational institutes from September 1, the task force constituting noted educationists and other stakeholders will take the final decision on August 25-26.

Talking to media persons, Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “We are ready to open the schools from September 1. The teachers are getting their COVID-19 tests done. We have been receiving feedback from the people. But the task force will discuss the matter on August 25 and 26.”

Sarma mentioned that all the teachers have been asked to be ready to attend their institutions from September 1. They have been asked to undergo COVID-19 tests from August 21 to 30.

All the educational institutes in the state have remained shut from March due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
