GUWAHATI: Amid COVID-19 crisis and lockdown, the Assam Government is going to bring a ray of hope to more than nine thousand candidates who had cleared Teachers Eligibility Test (TET). The State Government will soon appoint upper-primary and lower-primary teachers against 9635 posts in the State.
The teachers will be appointed in 26 districts of Assam. Preetom Saikia, commissioner and secretary to the department of elementary education informed that except the four districts under Bodoland Territorial Area District (BTAD), Dima Hasao, West Karbi Anglong and Karbi Anglong, the teachers will be appointed after the lockdown is over. This appointment will also include state-pool and contractual teachers. He informed that the process of documentation verification is going on. Following that the first list of candidates will be published.
According to the information, out of total 35814 candidates, 11,322 candidates cleared TET which was held in 2019.
