GUWAHATI: The Assam government will allow asymptomatic COVID-19 patients to remain in home on the grounds of certain conditions.

Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma informed media persons that asymptomatic patients will be allowed to remain in home isolation if their elderly parents or any comorbid patients do not stay together.  On the other hand, the patients will be allowed to remain at home if their neighbourhood has no objection about it.

Similarly, the patients should have a private doctor, own car and a driver ready round the clock to address any kind of emergency situation. The patients should possess own pulse oxymetre.

Dr. Sarma stated that home quarantine of the asymptomatic patients would be allowed on the basis of written assurance to meet all the conditions.
