Assam Govt Shuts Down COVID19 Widow Support Scheme

Guwahati: The state government in Assam has decided to close the Chief Minister’s COVID19 Widow Support Scheme on Tuesday.

An official statement said that the decision was taken in view of the gradual decline of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country in general and in the state in particular and in view of the decreasing number of cases and resultant nil fatalities due to COVID -19 in the State.

The application form in portal https://cmcovidsupport.assam.gov.in has been closed w.e.f 25/03/22, the statement said.

The state has 10 active Covid19 cases till Tuesday evening with a positivity rate below one percent. Three new cases were detected on Tuesday, said national health mission, Assam.

Meanwhile, state health department was preparing to vaccinate children with the age group of 6-12 years after the Drugs Controller General of India (DGCI) approved emergency use authorization to Covaxin for the age group of 6-12 years.
