GUWAHATI: The Assam government has renamed science and technology department as the department of science, technology and climate change.
The decision has been announced by chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
“Science & Technology Department of Sate Govt is being rechristened as Dept of Science, Technology and Climate Change, from today,” Sarma stated in a series of tweets on World Environment Day.
Govt has decided to upgrade Raimona Sanctuary in BTR to a National Park; work is also underway to give national park status to Dehing Patkai. Science & Technology Department of Sate Govt is being rechristened as Dept of Science, Technology and Climate Change, from today.
