Assam Govt provided 1,000 dollar to 21 people stranded abroad: Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has provided financial aid to 21 people who were visiting foreign countries and stranded amid COVID19 crisis. So far the state government has provided 1,000 dollar to 21 people whose visits were of temporary nature. Their next instalment will be released soon.

Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, Assam health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “So far we have provided financial aid of 1,000 dollar to 21 people. This is their first instalment. The second instalment will be released on April 25.”

Minister Sarma also stated that if someone stranded abroad during their temporary visits, they can contact the state government through the Twiiter handle of finance department.
