GUWAHATI: All the government offices in Assam have resumed functioning from today amid COVID-19 lockdown. The government offices started functioning with 30 per cent workforce at a time with the heads of the department entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining the duty roaster and COVID-19 restrictions.
All the officers of the rank of deputy secretary and above will attend office regularly and third and fourth category employees will have to attend office as per the roaster determined by the department heads.
In Guwahati, government employees arrived in the offices by the transport facilities provided by the authorities. No private vehicles have been allowed and government has arranged bus services for the employees. Along with other government offices, state secretariat—Janata Bhawan also started functioning from today. However, adequate precautionary measures have been taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
