Assam Govt hands over Rs 5 lakh cheque to Pahalgam terror attack victim Manjunath Rao’s family

Assam Industries and Commerce Minister Bimal Borah Sunday handed over the cheque to Pallavi R, wife of Late Manjunath, at their residence in Shivamogga

The Assam Government on Sunday (May 25) handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the wife of Pahalgam terror attack victim Manjunath Rao in Karnataka’s Shivamogga as part of the financial ex-gratia announced by the Assam Government for the terror attack victims.

Assam Industries and Commerce, and Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah Sunday handed over the cheque to Pallavi R, wife of Late Manjunath, at their residence in Shivamogga.

He also interacted with the bereaved family members and offered them his condolences.

“Hon’ble CM Dr @himantabiswa dangoriya-led Govt of Assam stands resolute with all the victims of the dastardly #PahalgamTerroristAttack during these trying times.

Reiterating the same, visited the residence of Late Manjunath Rao in Shivamogga, as per the directions of our HCM, and handed over financial assistance of ₹ 5 lakh on behalf of our govt to his wife Smt Pallavi R on the occasion.

Also, interacted with the bereaved family members and conveyed my sincere condolences to them,” Biman Bora wrote on ‘X’, formerly Twitter after handing over the ex-gratia amount.

47-year-old Manjunath Rao was visiting Kashmir with is wife Pallavi and son Abhijeya to celebrate his son clearing the PU examination with 98 per cent marks.

He was shot dead by the terrorists in front of his wife and son while they were enjoying the pristine location.

Various ministerial colleagues of Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma are visiting family members of other victims and handing them cheques of Rs 5 lakh each as per a decision taken by the Assam Government to provide the financial assistance to the families losing their near and dear ones in the dastardly terror attack.
